Sports Minister Visits NTC for Disability Tennis Festival
Sports Minister Hugh Robertson visited the National Tennis Centre for a Disability Tennis Festival organised by the Tennis Foundation to look at Deaf, Learning Disability, Visually Impaired and Wheelchair Tennis to celebrate one year since the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was very special to meet Hugh Robertson. It was nice to meet some other disability athletes for the first time. I also enjoyed meeting the Tennis Foundation staff. It was great experience seeing what other athletes can do. They were amazing.

Lansdown Closed 2013
The Lansdown Junior Club Closed Championships, sponsored by Brasserie Blanc, got off to a fantastic start on Sunday 23rd June. We had 68 junior members competing in 9 different events, all aiming to secure a place in the Club Finals which will be held on Saturday July 13th. Despite the uncertain forecast, the weather was kind to us and all but one of the matches were completed.
Ricky Reardon, Head Coach and main organiser, was really pleased with both the turn out and the standard of play, noting that there had been ‘some really great drama in some matches’. He was helped on the day by Dan Tunstall and Pete Hoyland who both coach at the Club.
The finalists will be aiming to win the Club Title in their respective age categories in the Club Championship Finals Day. This will be held on Saturday 13th July, where the juniors will be playing alongside the senior finalists.
Going through to the Finals are:
U16 Boys: Calum Montgomery v. Dan Jones or Joe Crosby
U16 Girls: Charlotte Rice v. Kimberley Crowhurst
U14 Boys: Finlay Eaton v. Ollie Morris
U14 Girls: Minnie Karanjavala v. Ella Holmes
U12 Boys: Ben Millett v. Ben Jones
U12 Girls: Izzy Jolliffe v. Emily Langman
U10s: Cameron Crowhurst v. Niall Hudson
U9s: James Reid v. Louis Moore
U8: Fraser Riddoch v. Charlie Stevens
